Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur

Niraivagam team headed by Dr. Fr. Joseph Jeyaraj and along with five other counsellors and trainers animated 1200 1st year students of Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur on the title “don’t drug yourself down”. The students were given awareness on the following titles; Common instruction on substance abuse, effects of addictions, effects of substance abuse and interventions to arrest the usage of the drugs.

Certificate course in Counselling & Psychotherapy

Capacity Building Programme

Christmas Celebration

Family of Niraivagam celebrated Christmas on 22nd December. Director and Assistant director of Niraivagam Psychological Services, organized this celebration to share the joy, peace and hope of Christmas with the staff. Carol singing, the Word of God, sharing of gifts and fellowship meal made us to feel the family spirit and belongingness. This was in deed a great celebration that brought us all together to express each one’s gratitude to God and the Niraivagam family.

Mental Health week

On 10th October a week long, mental health program was celebrated in different schools at chennai and polur in view of the World Mental Health Day. During this week, mental health awareness was given to students of the following schools, Dominic Savio Santhome, Don Bosco Matriculation school Egmore, St. Bede’s AIHSS, Santhome, St. Bede’s Academy, St. Vincent MHSS, St. Gabriel’s Broadway, Don Bosco Matriculation School Ayanavaram, Holy Angels AIHSS, T. Nagar, Don Bosco Vyasarpadi and Don Bosco Polur. Well qualified and trained Niraivagam staff were sent to the schools to animate and to bring awareness among students on having a sound mental health.

Mental Health Day

On 15th October 2022, Niraivagam and Don Bosco College of Arts and Science, Chennai jointly organised a day of conference on the theme ‘Empowering community by investing in holistic education, and social wellbeing’ with the collaboration of Let us Dream Community. The first keynote address for this seminar was given by Fr. Francis Xavier, SJ. Rector of Loyola College, Chennai on the title ‘Role of education’.
