On 29^th July 2023 the final session of the 80-hour Hands-on certificate course on PCT & CBT was held at Niraivagam. Fr. Don Bosco SDB, the Provincial of Salesian Province of Chennai welcomed the participants, blessed and appreciated their contribution to the society and highlighted the need for “Ethical Requirements of Counselling”. The Valedictory function of 80-hour Hands-on certificate course on PCT & CBT was held in the evening and Fr. John Alexander SDB, Vice-Provincial of Salesian Province of Chennai was the Chief guest. He gave keynote address on the need for Learned People in the society and bring about a new culture in the society in taking care of the mental health of each and every person. He also appreciated the contributions made by Niraivagam in promoting and bringing about the culture of promoting Mental health and the need for psychological service in the province and in Tamil Nadu. He distributed the certificates to 35 participants, who were mostly School counsellors, HRs, Corporate and mental health Professionals and psychologists from various parts of Tamil Nadu. Rev. Dr. Joseph Jeyaraj SDB, the director of Niraivagam was the resource person of the day. Participants were very glad to have such a dynamic session on PCT and CBT (Dr. Thaddeus Alfonso) that empowered the participants in counselling the clients.
