📱 Digital Detox Session focused on:
* Understanding the impact of excessive screen time and digital platforms on young minds
* Effects of social media, gaming and continuous digital engagement on attention, sleep, emotions, relationships and academic performance
* Understanding how digital platforms are designed to provide instant rewards and stimulate the brain’s dopamine system, which can encourage repeated checking and prolonged usage
* Recognising unhealthy digital habits and signs of digital dependency
* Developing mindful screen-time habits and maintaining a healthy balance between the digital world and real life
🚫 Drug Awareness Session focused on:
* Understanding why youngsters may be attracted towards drugs and how curiosity, peer pressure and the brain’s reward system/dopamine can contribute to repeated use
* Understanding the physical, psychological, social and academic consequences of drug use
* Awareness about addiction and how repeated substance use can affect the brain’s reward and decision-making systems
* Developing the confidence to say NO to drugs and make healthy, responsible choices
🎨 Creative Awareness Activity – “Change the Image, Change the Message”
As part of the session, students were given outline images representing different drugs and substances. They were challenged to transform these images into positive, meaningful symbols and create suitable awareness slogans.
Some of the most creative transformations included:
🚬 Cigarette → Chalk piece, pencil and butterfly
💊 Tablet → Route/compass and corn 🌽
💉 Injection → A watering tool for planting
🍾 Alcohol bottle → Fish tank and flowering vase
The activity encouraged students to look at harmful substances from a different perspective, use their creativity, and communicate positive choices through visual messages and slogans.
The students participated with great enthusiasm and active involvement, making the programme interactive, thought-provoking and meaningful.
