On October 28, 2024, the Niraivagam Decennial Mental Health Quiz Competition was held, marking a significant milestone in promoting mental health awareness and education. The event was a resounding success, thanks to the collaborative efforts of dedicated individuals and organizations.

The gathering was warmly welcomed by Rev. Fr. Ravi SDB, the Director of Niraivagam, whose visionary and creative leadership set the tone for the day. His innovative approach to engaging the audience inspired a spirit of enthusiasm and camaraderie.

The programme was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Mathias SDB, the Principal of Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School and Vice-Rector of the Don Bosco Community in Egmore. Fr. Mathias shared his inspiring thoughts, emphasizing the importance of mental health education and he graced the occasion with his blessings. He also had the honour of distributing awards to the quiz winners, recognizing their outstanding achievements.

The valedictory function featured Fr. Tony Robert SDB, Principal of Don Bosco School of Excellence, Egmore. Fr. Tony presented certificates to all quiz participants, celebrating their efforts and commitment to learning about mental health.

A special note of gratitude is extended to Fr. Arulanadam Mariadass SDB, the Administrator of the Don Bosco Community, for his meticulous arrangements that contributed to the event's success. The well-organized auditorium, audio-visual aids, and delightful lunch and refreshments enhanced the overall experience for all attendees.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the dedicated team members who worked tirelessly who brought the event success. Special acknowledgment goes to Ms. Roshan, the quiz team coordinator, along with Mr. Ashwin, Ms. Jenifer, Mrs. Virgin (our advisor), Mr. Selvendiran, Mr. Joshua, and Mrs. Anne Florence. We are also grateful to Fr. Joseph Jeyaraj, the former Director, for his invaluable contributions.

We extend our appreciation to all student participants, teachers, and counsellors who played a vital role in this event. A special thank you is due to all school headmasters and principals for encouraging their students to participate and for fostering a spirit of learning and growth in mental health awareness.
