Inauguration of Ten-day Remedial Summer Camp conducted by Niraivagam began on 25 April 2023, under the leadership of Fr. Joseph Jeyaraj, Director of Niraivagam, who designed the whole camp along with Mrs. Anne Florence, HoD of Child Development, Niraivagam. It was held at St. Bede’s Academy, Santhome. There were 27 students from stds. III to V from both Salesian and non-Salesian schools namely, Don Bosco Mat. Hr. Sec. School, Egmore, St. Bede’s Academy, St. Mary’s Hr. Sec. School, George town, Good Shepherd Hr. Sec. School, Fatima Hr. Sec. School, Maharishi Hr. Sec. School, Holy angels Hr. Sec. School, and Sathya Sai Hr. Sec. School. Fr. Y. L. Irudayaraj SDB, Headmaster of St. Bede’s A. I. Hr. Sec. School and Fr. K. J. Arulraj SDB, Principal of St. Bede’s Academy were the chief guests of the day. Mrs. Satya Dhanakodi, CEO of Yogithya Academy was the key note speaker of the inaugural function and she gave a beautiful orientation to the parents especially how to handle children struggling with Learning Difficulties. Parents were very happy to take part in this inaugural ceremony. The three Remedial teachers, Manisha, Ashwin and Mary welcomed the students and engaged them with many learning activities. The three Remedial teachers were supported by other Niraivagam staff members – Selvendhiren, Raja, Monisha and Yacop.
